Technology Education in the Garfield School
District begins as early as Preschool. Every classroom in the district is equipped with
at least three computers that have Internet access. Each
elementary school has a state of the art computer lab.
The middle and high school have two or more computer
labs. Formal computer education begins as early as Kindergarten and continues
through grade 12.
The
Garfield Technology Department has stayed on the cutting
edge of new technologies for education introducing
wireless laptops, Smartboards, podcasting, blogging, an
informative website, and many other technologies that
enhance our student's education.
The
technology department at Garfield is committed to
providing support for all of the technological needs of
the district. Our team works with the administrators,
teachers and students to find, implement and support the
best choices in technology.
The
Garfield School District is proud to announce the
completion of our Smartboard Initiative. Every classroom
in the district is equipped with a Smartboard.
IPADS
were introduced to the elementary schools in 2012. Our
elementary schools have at least 10 IPADS in each
building. We will be purchasing additional IPADS to be
shared throughout the buildings.
